Winter months in northern countries offer many hazards non existent in warm weather. Crossing busy streets and falling on icy sidewalks are commonplace dangers for everyone when the snow is flying. Children tobogganing are always in need of head protection. Recreational ice skating and outdoor hockey pose obvious risks because most people are confident of their ability and refuse to wear helmets. Falling ice and snow off large buildings have been known to strike many unsuspecting pedestrians.
The Safety Tuque was not designed to replace specific sports helmets of high intensity. It is meant to offer safety conscious people a protective winter hat that is warm, comfortable, inconspicuous, and perfect for general everyday use.
REMEMBER: Safety helmets and hard hats of any sort cannot protect against all degrees of head injuries. Wearing head protection should not make anyone more aggressive, but on the contrary more cautious. Parents should supervise children during all outdoor activities. Last of all, keep the Safety Tuque on in the car because that is where it is needed the most.
